Installation Instructions for CD Version of Depo
You may load one deposition for a fully functional program to determine if you wish to purchase Depo. You will not be able to load another deposition until after payment and receipt of your unlock code.
- Place the CD in your CD drive. A screen will appear giving you the option to install the program or watch the instruction video. If it does not, go to Explorer (right click on the “Start” button at the bottom left of your screen and left click on Explore). Click on your CD drive letter and then double click on Setup.exe. Or, double click on trialprep_demo.wmv to watch the video. If that does not work, open Windows Media Player and access trialprep_demo.wmv on the CD. If that doesn’t work your version of Media Player may be too old. Either click on “Get Media Player” at the open screen or go to the Microsoft Site and download the newest version. If you do not know how, call or e-mail for instructions.
- After the program has loaded, place your deposition floppy in drive “A.” Click on the top left icon (the folder with a + sign) or click on File and then New. If the program does not look in drive “A” automatically, click on the drop-down arrow at the top of the “Open” box and click on the “A” drive.
- Click on the file name the court reporter gave the deposition, and make sure it is now in the small window next to “File Name.” Then click on Open.
- If you do not have a deposition to use, when the Open box appears, click on the drop-down arrow at the top of the box and select your CD drive. Then click on Test Depo.txt and then Open.
- Go to the Help File (click on the circle with a question mark at the top right of the screen) and click on the section entitled Loading a Deposition. This section tells you how to set the proper page numbering in Depo so that the page numbers exported to Word match those of the printed deposition.
To pay for Depo and receive your unlock code, start Depo when your computer is connected to the internet. Click on “Register,” create your user name (any name of 8 characters or more will do) and type it in the appropriate box. Fill out the required information and make your payment through PayPal. You will receive your unlock code by e-mail. Enter your user name and the unlock code where indicated and the program will accept as many depositions as you wish. REMEMBER YOUR USER NAME AND THE UNLOCK CODE ARE CASE SENSITIVE. ENTER THEM EXACTLY!!
If you do not have internet connection or do not want to pay via the internet, simply mail your payment of $210.00 (Cal. residents only add 8.75% tax of $18.37 for a total of $228.37) to TrialPrep, LLC 1141 Harbor Bay Parkway, Suite 206, Alameda, CA 94502. Before sending your payment, access the Registration page of the program and make a note of your PIN. Include your PIN and any user name you prefer. Indicate if you want your unlock code mailed or e-mailed to you. If you wish a telephone call with the unlock code, so state, and include your telephone number.
